Okay, since Leeroi want submit a bio - I'll write one! Leroy, how ever in the hadius he signs it,
is living on borrowed time. A medical miracle that has been flat-lined, twice. We are truly amazed
at his talent and feel blessed to have him. A gifted musician that hopefully the masses will sooner
than later, discover. Born and raised in Opelika, Leeroi, took off for the phat city of Atlanta
and made a splash.
Played with a bunch of famous musicians that have long since made it big. Sat in as a studio
player for a number of years....if you can sit him down and pry the names out of him he can and
will tell his story! Drop by Bodega's hotdog stand
and visit ole Leeroi and catch up on what he has done and what he is doing now. Leeroi is really humble
and usually doesn't make such a big deal about his past, present, or future.
Okay, I just had to know and I painted Leeroi into a corner. Admitted to have been in the
following bands, Doc Rodgers And The Rock Dodgers, The Willies, Bare Facts Blues Band, Turning
Point, and Calabash. Slapped Leeroi around a little and he coughed up the fact that the
following players would sit-in on a regular basis with Doc Rodgers; Steve Marriot of Humble Pie, Tommy Talton of Cowboy, Mike Duke of Wet Willie, and Rick Richards of Georgia Satellites. Talton would also sit-in with The Willies and so would Tommy Doucette of the Allman Brothers. Did I mention Chaka Khan of Rufus loved to play with Calabash?
If you don't consider the phat enough, Leeroi has sat in as a session player at these studios;
Axis Sound, Sound Scape, Apege, and O&B Studios. Not bad, huh?
Leeroi carried the mojo for several area bands. Remember Peter Spivak and Local White Bread and Burns Loller of Burns and Sideburns.
You may have seen him playing with Yandle The Bruce, Grover and Steven Lowdawg Henry with the likes of Bo and The Blue Rocks. Leeroi, Bruce, Steve and Beca Boynton delivered
soul music to the masses with Pretty Beat Up. Don't forget the drive-by of the Guys From R & D and I wonder when we
will here from those Wanker Brothers. Rumors persist.
Did I mention either The Viceroys or the Mo Better Blues Show & Revue with Todd Vickery and Keith Vickery. Leeroi and Grover had been cooking up Leeroi Dynamite. Did you get a chance to catch'em?
I consider Leeroi a friend that you just need to get to know, if you don't know him already.
Always has a big smile plastered on his face and really enjoying his second wind! - T&N
